A Case Report of Mushroom Poisoning

Abstract

|
The patient, a 32 year old male gathered wild mushroom around Lim Jin River in Kyung Ki Do. He cooked the mushroom thoroughly and ate large quantities on the same day. Twelve hours later he noted abdominal pain, vomiting and the explosive onset of watery diarrhea. On the sixth day after ingestion, he was transferred to our hospital. Physical examination on admission revealed mydriatic pupils, jaundice on the skin and semicomatous mentality. Liver was palpable 2 finger breadth below the right costal margin. On the liver function test, alkaline phosphatase was 3.2 unit, SGOT 355 unit, SGPT 900 unit, bilirubin total 13. 8mg%, direct 6. 4 mg%, thymol turbidity 1. 7 unit were observed. Unfortunately, he was died after discharge.
